Walking in the footsteps of Australian legends. The 6 day 5 night tour will have you retracing the steps of Wheatley, Badcoe, Simpson and Payne in the very places they performed the heroic actions that lead to them being awarded Australia's highest military honour for bravery, the Victoria Cross. Never before has there been a tour like this. Our special guest accompanying the tour is former Green Beret SSGT Jerry Dellwo who was with Keith Payne and witnessed his acts of valor on that fateful day in 1969. Jerry himself was awarded the Silver Star for his actions during the same action.

All four Victoria Cross locations are situated in amazing rural localities in the central provinces of Vietnam. From the rugged tri-border area plateau dotted with friendly ethnic minority ("montagnard") villages, we'll visit a remote national park, before travelling overland down the lush escarpment to the coastal rice plains around the fascinating deeply historic Hue City. Our tour route takes us past countless sites of historic and cultural significance that we we will point out along our journey, stopping at a number to take in more of the atmostphere.

The cost includes all expenses from pickup at Pleiku airport to drop off in Hue the following week. We are most happy to assist with visas and transportation to Pleiku, as well as extended itineraries or onward personal transportation following the completion of the tour. Profits from our Vietnam Victoria Cross Tour benefit a charity focused on helping families of Vietnam Veterans better understand and connect with the past through educational research and providing fully funded tours to sites of significance to individuals in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

SAMPLE ITINERARY FOR THE VIETNAM HERITAGE ANZAC TOUR (ex-Saigon)

Day 1 - meet and greet at Pleiku Airport, travel to hotel in or near Kon Tum, explore sites of significance in the vicinity

Day 2 - Travel to visit the site of Keith Payne's actions, walk the actual battlefield in jungle terrain (moderate to easy walking in remote area conditions)

Day 3 - Travel to visit the site of Ray Simpsons actions in the tri-border area, visit various special force bases and places of significance in the area

Day 4 - Descend overland across the stunning escarpment to the central coast, overnight in historic Hue city - many site of significance en route and in Hue itself

Day 5 - Travel to the scenes of Peter Badcoe's multiple actions that led to him being awarded the Victoria Cross

Day 6 - Walk the scene of Kevin "Dasher" Wheatley's last heroic stand that led to him being awarded the Victoria Cross. Return to Hue city for farewells or onward travel
